Business Needs: In an effort to achieve operational goals and to create a streamlined, "virtual" credentialing process, Medical Staffing Network was looking for a user-friendly web-based solution to support and enhance our comprehensive competency assessment and credentialing program. It was important to find a partner with healthcare staffing experience, with knowledge of Joint Commission standards and the willingness to understand our specific needs and requirements.

- Increase number of healthcare professional credentialed to work each month. During Q1 of 2007, the number of healthcare professionals credentialed has increased 35% compared to Q1 2006.
- Decrease cycle time for processing new applicants. Since the implementation of NurseTesting, we have experienced a 20% improvement in the cycle time; application time to credentialed and ready to work.
- Achieve improved compliance with competency assessment requirements. Improved compliance scores achieved company wide; 94% of all offices achieved quality awards in Q1 2007.
- Achieve Joint Commission Certification. As of April 2007, Medical Staffing Network and eight Per Diem branch offices have participated in the Joint Commission Certification Review process and have all successfully achieved certification. Medical Staffing Network continues to pursue certification for additional Per Diem branch offices.
National Validation: NurseTesting exams have been nationally validated and reliability tested to assess knowledge which is necessary for a healthcare professional to deliver safe, quality patient care. Data gathered on exam results indicate a direct relationship with escalating experience and exam results, giving us greater confidence in the healthcare professionals that we hire. The exams are updated annually to reflect the most current trends in nursing practice. This national validation has given Medical Staffing Network greater credibility with our clients in assuring the placement of skilled healthcare professionals. NurseTesting also plays an important role in achieving the Joint Commission standards related to determining clinical competence for the appropriate placement of healthcare professionals. Prior to NurseTesting, Medical Staffing Network dedicated significant clinical and financial resources to continuously review and update competency exams, skills checklists and mandatory education offerings.
